Rangiora High School information for Year 8

Rangiora High School —

The following is information we have been asked to share. Please read and act accordingly.

Dear Parents/Caregivers/Whānau,

We hope your child is looking forward to beginning Rangiora High School in 2024. We are proud of our students and their achievements and want the very best for them on their learning journey. For further information on our school please visit our website.

The following is important information regarding the pre-enrolment of your child.

Pre-enrolment Applications:

Enrolment is online and can be found here. The link can also be found from the home page of our website by clicking on the Portal tab.

· Please submit your child’s application as soon as possible – we would like to have the majority of applications in by Friday 23rd June. This is for planning purposes and so we can keep you informed of upcoming events and transition information throughout the year.

· With your application you will need to upload a copy of your child’s birth certificate if born in NZ, or passport and visa if not born in NZ (or citizenship certificate); as well as proof of address as detailed below. Supporting documents can also be emailed to enrolments@rangiorahigh.school.nz or dropped into the school office.

· If possible, please upload a recent photo of your child - this will assist us with identifying your child until school photos are taken.

· Uploaded documents can include scanned documents and photos.

· Please note that incomplete applications will not be processed.

· You will receive an email confirming receipt of your application once it has been checked and uploaded, or a request for further information if required.

Proof of In-Zone Address:

· Your child must be living in-zone at the time of attendance in 2024 to be entitled to enrol at Rangiora High School (even if older siblings already attend). You are required to provide proof of your address with your application. This can be an online account (eg a recent phone or power account – it must be dated, and show caregiver name and physical address).

· It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes in your circumstances. If you move to an out-of-zone address before the first day of attendance at school your child will NOT be entitled to enrol at Rangiora High School.

· If you are unsure of the zoning, check our zone map or contact the school office.

Out-of-Zone Enrolments:

The Rangiora High School Board has determined that out-of-zone enrolments will only be accepted for those students who have attending RHS siblings in 2024 (Priority 2). Applications for out-of-zone enrolments close on Friday 28 July 2023.

Open Days:

Open day tours are scheduled for Monday 29th May, Tuesday 30th May and Thursday 1st June. Bookings are required and can be made online from our website (scroll down the page to find the link).

At the end of June, a Year 8 Newsletter will be emailed to parents/caregivers of pre-enrolled students which will include further information regarding the process of transitioning your child to high school. RHS newsletters can also be found on our website here.
