2022 Staffing and school structure
Rangiora Borough School has a few changes for 2022 directly relating to the reduced school roll following the last couple of years with large Year 8 cohorts leaving at the end of each year.
This has meant that going into 2022, we have the opportunity to create specific Year Level learning teams and have a greater emphasis on collaborative teaching within the team.
Each child has been placed in a home room learning space with their home room teacher. This teacher is the person who will be the main whānau contact and lead any reporting and communication on social, cultural and academic progress over the year, while receiving input from other teachers within the team that are working collaboratively to support the child's learning.
While some teaching spaces lean more naturally to this collaborative teaching and learning style, all of our spaces have been either modified or built to ensure that teaching and learning is a team focus - we have a collective ownership and celebration of learning and development of behaviours and progress for all our children over their time here at Rangiora Borough School.
Staffing and School Structure for 2022
Some names and signage will be changed over the holidays to reflect the new team names and spaces. This is particularly with the changes in the Year 5 - 8 area, where we are moving into two distinct teams, of two spaces each.

In Kākāriki and Kōtare teams, we have two home groups in each space. Both will be collaborating and working with each other a great deal during the day, while sometimes there are opportunities for whole year level activities across the team as well. This flexibility is what enables us to really look at what our learners need and cater for them more in a holistic manner - this is being responsive to our learners because we know our learners.
