William Pike 2025

Angus Lahey —

The William Pike people went to Tirimoana Bush for a walk

The William Pike challenge requires you to do 20 hrs of community service, passion project and outdoor activities. It was created by William Pike because he wants to encourage kids to get outside and be more active.

On the 22nd of May 2025, all the William pike participants went on the Tirimoana bush walk. First we all met in the epic room for the safety briefing and were elecated cars for the trip, the drive took about an 45 mins to a hour.

Once we arrived we made sure everyone was there and began descending down the track. The walk was 12 km in total and took around 3 hours to complete, plus lunch breaks and occasional stopping. Along the walk there were expansive views of the ocean and native plants.

At the halfway point we stopped for lunch at the lookout. The weather was good throughout the walk, and the view was spectacular. As we walked back to the carpark we started to hear different noises like bell birds chirping and we saw native birds nesting through the trees. After we got back we all felt ecstatic from the fresh air. It helped us get off screens and enjoy nature. A walk that wasn't tampered with by machines and even though all of our legs were killing us from the extensive uphill battle, we enjoyed it alot!

Once we got back to the car park we made sure no one was lost. We left at around 1:30-2:00 pm in the same cars we came in. We arrived back at school at 2:15.

This walk was amazing and we are really looking forward to the next (William Pike) trip.😃
