Have our kids got what it takes? We think maybe they do!!!

Jasmine Treacy —

On Monday 18th March 2024, a group of 8 Kākāriki students were invited to attend the PCT competition (police competency test) at Cowles Stadium in Wainoni.

We arrived in time to watch the morning session running their finals and the buzz was quickly in the air! Korbyn, Zarah, Finn, CJ, Riley, James, Toby and Isabella spent the day rotating through a range of awesome workshops which gave them insight into the emergency responders of our community. We were able to try on police gear, race against the speed camera, and practice our CPR skills.

The team also participated in the PCT competition which had them sprinting, weaving, jumping through 'windows' and throwing themselves over fences! Although we didn't take home a final placing, the kids ran their absolute heart out and carried the RBS values with them every step of the way. A brilliant day had by all, made even better by the free BBQ.

Well done to our fabulous team!
