Healthy Active Learners at RBS!

Mikayla Williams —

What a successful start to the year with our Healthy Active Learning (Hauora Team)!

What a successful start to the year with our Healthy Active Learning (Hauora Team)!

We have been working alongside Lynn and Isaac from Sport Canterbury to promote healthy active learners in RBS. Earlier in Term 1 we gathered kaiako and tamariki voice all around the health and PE curriculum and what the students like and dislike about PE and what they like to do in their break times.

We have lots to celebrate with a majority of our staff feeling confident with their teaching practice in health!

You can see from the data that most of our year 5-8 students enjoy playing sports and making up their own games during breaktimes. Our junior students enjoy making up their own games, playing sport and riding their scooters or bikes.

Students also said they enjoy learning new games and skills, playing different sports and playing with their friends in PE.

This data is going to support teachers with their planning in the Health and PE curriculum and our tamariki in the playground!
