Our Rangiora Borough School Playgrounds are closed.

Heidi Moeller —

A reminder to our community that our school playgrounds are closed due to the COVID-19 Level 4 Lockdown.

From the Ministry of Education - Remind your community school sites are closed

We've had reports that children and young people have been spotted using play equipment and gathering on school grounds throughout New Zealand, including in Auckland and Wellington.

Please remember that there is no access to school sites during Alert Level 4. Playgrounds (including public playgrounds) are also closed to reduce the risk of the virus spreading.

A big thank you for taking the lockdown seriously and doing what we have been asked – we’ve seen before that staying at home will break the chain of transmission and save lives. It is even more important that we all follow the health advice because the Delta variant is very contagious.

Breaking the rules risks the health of those close to you, the wider community and could result in the lock down period being extended.

Please remember that the school, playground and school grounds remain closed at Alert Level 4.

As always, please let us know if there is anything you need to support you and your tamariki during this time.

You can also let people know that if they are concerned that someone is not following the rules, they can report it to the COVID-19 Compliance Centre. This includes people not complying with:

  • Alert Level restrictions
  • managed isolation requirements.

The compliance center will work to ensure that everyone is clear about how the restrictions apply.
