We have been in communication with WDC in regards to minimising disruption as best they can, to our school while this important project continues.

The WDC have been in communication over the last month with regard to the work needing to be undertaken and the impact this will have on our school. They have provided us with the following communication to pass on and will continue to do so as the work progresses. This is an overview of the project which has an impact on us. More detail, especially work and timing around busy times of the school day and access to crossings and entranceways, is being worked on as part of the Traffic Management Plan.

Communication from WDC

Work continues to upgrade the sewer capacity in Rangiora with work started in King Street and this will move through from Queen Street to Church Street, up Church Street past the hockey field, and across Dudley Park to White Street.

In Stage One at the start of the work there will be no parking available between Holmwood Resthome to 142 King Street with two lane traffic maintained.

Over the next few months as the work progresses through the roundabout at Queen Street, King Street will be reduced to one lane with one-way traffic southbound from Queen Street roundabout. Traffic will be detoured via Church and Murray Streets. The southbound closure with then extend to High Street with traffic detoured via Church Street. Queen Street will be closed on the east side of the roundabout as here is a section of pipe to lay north of the roundabout.

Once this is complete work will move to the other side and the northbound lane will be closed at George Street with detour via George Street and Church Street. Queen Street will be closed on west side of roundabout. The roundabout will then reopen to north/south/east traffic and Queen Street will remain closed between King/Church.

There will also be parking restrictions in each of these areas and there will be signage and directions on site.
