We were approached by some of our school whānau if we could show some support in gathering items for winter care packages for some of those less fortunate in the community.

To our amazing school community ...

We have been given an opportunity to participate in this community initiative being organised by a local team here in Rangiora. Thanks to two of our students who have arranged the advertising of this initiative and the collection of the items.

The team are in the process of making winter care backpacks for the homeless people in and around Christchurch. They have been asking local companies and organisations to help by donating items that can be added to the backpacks. They are hoping to get as many backpacks made as possible by the end of April ready for delivery in May and June.

The items required are everyday items that are often not seen as a priority when getting a meal is often more important. Can you help by providing the following items. Suggestions have been made for which items could be brought by which team. However, just feel free to bring something to school from the list over the week.

Donation Week: March 28 - April 1

* deodorant

* shower gel

* soap

* toothpaste

* toothbrushes

* cup of soups

* wet wipes.

We will arrange for pick up of the donated items during the following week.
