We all enjoyed reading this book and exploring the story, characters and pictures.

It is always fun to read together and get inspiration from a book. We talked about the story and even though we didn't have a creek to race our boats we did create some masterpieces. It was so much fun to see if they would actually float. The tamariki were so excited and they either worked in pairs or on their own to make their boats.

Then the moment of truth and we achieved 100% floatability. It is always great to set a challenge and watch the thinking involved in achieving a goal while allowing each child choose how to achieve it.
