Ruru 3 have been looking at the importance of helping to reduce the amount of rubbish that ends up in the Transfer Station.

A person in the community was clearing out a family member's house and dropped off a bag of unwanted toys to Rangiora Borough.

Ruru 3 decided to reuse these toys and make them into a doorstop. Mrs Janet kindly unpicked their kumu so we could remove some filling and repack with stones to create a weighted toy. The ākonga then sewed up the seam to create their doorstop.
