Rangiora Borough School Cross Country

Angela Newland —

Thursday was the perfect day for the full school cross country. The sun came out and the weather could not have been better.  We kicked the day off with the year 5 boys running at 10.30am, the senior students all followed suit completing their runs by 12.30pm.  It was great to see all the parent supporters who came to support our tamariki.  The media mob was on board with their filming crew interviewing our keen runners throughout the day. Mr McLay had fun ensuring the students were all warmed up and ready to run. 28 of our senior students made the qualifying time and will be given the opportunity to opt into the Rakahuri zone cross country event.

The junior school cross country was equally as successful with the year 0 students starting at 1.20, racing around the park with our wonderful PALS and student leaders in support. The final race of the day was our year 4 students, where there were some tight margins at the finish line. It was wonderful to see all the parents coming along to support and to see our younger students with so much determination and all trying their hardest.

Thank you everyone who came along to make this a fantastic 2022 RBS cross country!

There are more photos to follow once they are edited by the wonderful Media Mob crew!
