I again want to thank you for the ongoing support you show for our school. Last week, you may remember that we had a later start on the Wednesday due to all our teaching staff attending a Paid Union Meeting. We very much appreciate the support for this.
We also have had a number of fundraising events lately, and support from whānau and friends has been amazing. Ngā Rākau e Rua team have had a great response to their Hot Cross Bun sale, while Kākāriki have also received awesome support for their spring bulb sale. There are some other events coming up in the near future too, so keep an eye out.
We also have had great support of our curriculum and sporting events from our school community. Today, there have been a number of parents come along and participate in the Rūrū team's House of Bricks visit. It was great seeing parents building lego challenges alongside other children in the spaces. We also have a number of parents who are supporting our senior sports activities as we start the winter sports competitions. We are unable to physically proivide all the options with only staff coaching / supervising, so we really thank those parents who have been able to step in to ensure that our children do get the range of options available to them.
Just a reminder that as we head into the Easter break, Tuesday is a school holiday. I have put this explanation in to the 2024 Term dates article, but have also made a separate article to let you know about this. As it only happens every four or five years within the term, it largely goes unnoticed, and sometimes comes as a bit of a surprise. That is one reason why I put the information in the term calendar last year so people could be well informed.
Wishing you all a great week and relaxing Easter break.
Keep smiling
Shane
