Buddy Reading Fun: Building Confidence Together on Fridays with Structured Literacy in Tui 3

We had a delightful session of structured literacy in Tui 3. The children enjoy buddy reading together on Friday afternoons. It's a wonderful way to build confidence, share knowledge, and learn collaboratively.

A favorite activity to dive into is buddy reading. It's a great way to build confidence, share learning, and work together hand in hand. And what better time than a lovely Friday afternoon. The reading buddies are at different levels so that children can encourage others and inspire them to reach a higher level. It is great to see the engagement and pleasure the children display.

Spencer Park - Big Day Out!

On Friday Kо̄tare Team had an adventurous, team-buiding day out at Spencer Park.

Last Friday, the children from Kо̄tare visited Spencer Park in Christchurch. They spent the whole day there, taking part in a variety of team building activities, exploring the park and, of course, playing on the playground!

Some of the highlights included the egg and spoon race, the scavenger hunt and the ever-popular tug of war! The children were a little upset when the teachers won the tug of war competition! (Well, at least that's what the teachers are saying happened!)

We had a barbecue lunch and the children all enjoyed a sausage and bread. This was followed by some free time, playing in the park and riding on the very popular flying fox.

All in all, it was a spendid day out and a great way to bring our team closer together through some fun games and challenges. Thank you to all parents who volunteered to help and special thanks to Ian's dad, Quintin, who organised and drove the bus.
