Introducing Board Presiding Member Emma Symons
Kia ora Whānau,
I’m Emma Symons, the current Presiding Member of the Board, a role I’ve held since February 2022. I’ve been proud to serve on the Board for nearly six years.
I’m married to Chris, and we have three children: Olivia (17), Hayley (15), and Cameron, who turns five this year and will start at Rangiora Borough School in July. I work full-time in the insurance industry.
Being on the Board is both challenging and rewarding. Attending local and national conferences provides us with valuable opportunities to connect with other schools, share experiences, and address the evolving challenges in education.
With a recent change in government, we anticipate shifts within the education sector—some positive, others more challenging. As always, we remain committed to adapting and advocating for the best outcomes for our tamariki.
Rangiora Borough School offers a wealth of extracurricular opportunities, and the Board continually seeks ways to improve and provide the best for our students.
Later this year, we will be holding Board elections and have positions to fill. If you’re interested in learning more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—I’d be happy to chat!
Ngā mihi,
Emma Symons
Presiding Member
