Minor amendment to Enrolment Scheme
The Ministry of Education has been working with Rangiora Borough School to establish a minor amendment to our current enrolment scheme to include our Te Reo Māori special programme - Ngā Rākau e Rua.
There are no changes currently being proposed to the home zone boundaries.
Rangiora Borough School requires a minor amendment to our enrolment scheme to include a special programme (Ngā Rākau e Rua) which is a specialised programme for up to 60 students based on te reo Māori me ōna tikanga.
Students who meet the criteria for enrolment in Ngā Rākau e Rua and live within the Rangiora Borough School home zone must be enrolled ahead of out of zone students. Out-of-zone students who meet the criteria for enrolment in Ngā Rākau e Rua have priority in enrolment above all other out-of-zone students while special programme places are available.
All learners/ākonga who live within the home zone of Rangiora Borough School will have an entitlement to attend the School. This amendment does not change the home zone already approved for the School.

The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.
The amended enrolment scheme to include Ngā Rākau e Rua is proposed to commence from Term 2, 02 May 2022.
