Staffing Update

Karyn Gray —

New teachers for Class 3, and an administration departure.

Class 3 - New Teachers

It’s a very tight job market out there at the moment, and there is definitely a bit of a teacher shortage - not just in our special character schools but in many schools regionally and nationally. Therefore I am excited that I can announce that I have found great teachers for Class 3 for the reminder of the year.

Jonas Koukl will be in Class 3 Monday - Wednesday and Nancy Fulford from Wednesday - Friday. Jonas and Nancy will team teach on a Wednesday to give the class consistency.

While these appointments are for Terms 3 and 4, Jonas and Nancy will be doing some days with us in Weeks 8, 9 and 10 to familiarize themselves with Class 3 to aid the transition.

Both Jonas and Nancy come from a creative arts background with strengths in music and the arts respectively and have already met to look at how they can best serve Class 3 together over the rest of the year. Jonas is a teacher who originally trained in Czechoslovakia and has a rudimentary knowledge of Steiner education and Nancy is a NZ teacher who has completed quite a lot of Steiner training. I am excited at their combination working together for Class 3 for the remainder of the year.

Resignation

I have received a resignation from Clare Goodman from our administration team. Clare is moving off to project coordination for an IT firm. Clare will be with us until the middle of the holiday break. We will have a chance to thank and farewell her before she leaves.
