Who is keen for a once in a lifetime, fully funded outdoor experience? Are you 15-18 years old?

Wahine Mana Mauri is a targeted outdoor adventure programme aimed to empower young wahine who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity by:

* Building culture and community, increasing connection with self, others and nature.

* Developing positive memories and feelings around learning and the outdoors.

* Developing interpersonal skills through outdoor journeys.

* Strengthen self-confidence and self-esteem through participation in various outdoor activities.

* Developing relationships with each other and nature to promote lifelong positive mental and physical health.

* Giving the opportunity to develop the skills of resilience, empathy, decision making, risk taking and resourcefulness through different outdoor contexts.

* Starting to develop a legacy and connect with the local natural environment.

* Developing a positive sense of self and identity through challenging oneself across a variety of outdoor pursuits and communal living.

The programme will be co designed with the students and could include canyoning, mountain biking, high ropes, adventure racing, an overnight expedition, and a solo experience in the bush!

WHEN: 15th – 22nd of December 2021.

WHERE: Kaitoke Outdoor Education Centre.

COST: This programme is free!

WHO: Females 15 – 18 years.
