I am the school’s Guidance Counsellor/kaiārahi, based in a wooden cabin beside the Upper School, known as Te Korowai. I was born in Dunedin/Ōtepoti and did some growing up in Gisborne and Southland before Wellington became a home base (my father worked for radio). My connection to Raphael House began in the early ‘90’s when completing my state and Taruna teacher training. My eldest boy was in the lower school for a time and my youngest two began their Waldorf journey at Thorndon kindergarten, and are now in the Upper School.

My background has included: conservation, anthropology, and more recently, counselling and mediation. I was part of the HVHS Guidance team for 8 years and prior to that a community counsellor in Wellington. I also had the good fortune of being a student of child therapy with Ingela Gude for a time. Ingela was a key figure in the early days at Raphael House and through her therapeutic lens she was a valued guide in a number of Waldorf communities.

I am passionate about celebrating diversity, restorative practice and fostering wellbeing within our therapeutic curriculum. My role also links students and whānau to support networks/practitioners in our wider Te Awakairangi community.

Outside of school I have a keen interest in horses, ocean swimming and mindfulness practice. I’m very aware that as a school parent my professional code of ethics as a counsellor is central, in terms of confidentiality.

My contact details and a confidential referral tab is located on the school website, under ‘Our Community’ and ‘Pastoral Care’.
