Asparagus Fern Removal Working Bee Sunday 13 September

Kathleen Russell —

Please come along for an hour or two and help us keep our school environment an Asparagus fern free place.

Kia ora katou,

Asparagus fern is again (sigh, I know) creeping its way past the bush tracks and into the pine forest, zig zag and driveway. If we leave this unchecked, it will swallow up the young plants and engulf whole trees (see photos of the bush above the pine forest). Brett has continued to hold working bees over the past years that have really made a significant impact on the encroachment of asparagus fern inside our grounds – please come and lend a hand if you can – many hands make light work…

Bring a garden sack and a weeding tool if you have them, otherwise just gardening gloves and pulling power!

We will provide a cuppa and juice at 11 a.m., feel free to bring a plate of something if that’s manageable.

We will start at 9am and finish at 2pm, and then we will start a Biodynamic Preparation Stirring, so stick around if you are interested in joining in!

Please RSVP kathleen.r@raphaelhouse.school.nz for this working bee

I'm so excited to see you all there!

Nāku noa, nā

Kathleen Russell
