Kindergarten Stories

Katie Musk —

Teddy Robinson, Libby the Cat and the Adventures of Jim and Flee!

Kindergarten teachers have been meeting regularly, discussing ways in which we can support whānau. We've been in touch via email, but also personally, reaching out to each individual family via text, mail or a friendly call. Each teacher has developed a story for their class, which the children receive weekly. Through the characters we hope to create a bridge between kindergarten and home, bring joy for the simple things in life... and inspiration!

Simple Bubble Mix (recipe can be halved)

· ½ cup dishwashing liquid into a bowl.

· 1 ½ cup water. Slowly add in the water being careful not to create too many bubbles at this stage.

· Measure 2 teaspoons of sugar and add it to the water/soap mixture. Gently stir the mixture together – a chopstick works well.

· Let the bubble mixture stand awhile before using as it makes the bubbles better.

· Have fun blowing bubbles!

Homemade Bubble Wands

If you don’t have a wand at home don’t worry you can have fun looking for different items in the kitchen and around the house - straws, cookie cutters, funnels,  circular end of bottle brush...or if you have thin garden wire in your garage you can bend it to make a wand.
