Talent Show 2021
Important information about the Upper School Talent Show and rehearsal on Thursday 5 August - PLEASE READ
The Talent Show is next Thursday 5 August and during the school day final preparations and rehearsals will be occurring at the Lower Hutt Town Hall.
This will involve all of the Upper School classes from 10:30am in the morning through to 2.30pm when students will return to school by bus.
If you are happy for your rangatahi to leave for home directly from the Lower Hutt Town Hall at 2.30pm please fill in this permission slip by Wednesday 3 August 10am.
In terms of risk management, students will be accompanied by their Kaiarataki teachers and will be paired up in a buddy system.
Students in Class 10, 11 and 12 will be permitted to leave in pairs or small groups to buy lunch. They will need to notify their Kaiarataki of their destination and expected time of return.
Students in Class 8 and 9 will not be permitted to leave the Town Hall and will need to bring lunch.
In the event of an earthquake:
· Tsunami risk: the Lower Hutt Events Centre and Town Hall is outside the Hutt City Councils Tsunami Risk zones and so would not immediately trigger an evacuation to high ground (any attempt to move to higher ground will require moving in an Easterly direction as moving across Melling Bridge or the Hutt River would be moving directly into the path of any potential Tsunami).
· In the first instance staff will remain with students as near to the venue as possible until students have been collected by parents or guardians.
· If disruption to infrastructure is significant and both transport and communications are not possible, or very difficult, students and staff will attempt to return to school on foot.
And last but not least – Make sure to get your Talent Show tickets TODAY - tickets can be purchased on KINDO for rangatahi ($10) from Class 7 up and adults ($15). Please note that performers will need to buy tickets as well. Tickets can be picked up from the School Office after purchase.
If you would like further information please contact Grant Rossiter, Amelia Minogue or Irja Haefliger (or your rangatahi’s Kaiarataki teacher).
