We had two Upper School students participating in the College Sport Wellington (CSW) Athletics Qualifying Meet held on Tuesday, 11 March at Newton Park in Newtown.

There were approximately 144 students participating from 12 colleges from the region.  Leah from Class 8 and Zoe from Class 9 both competed at this event.  Leah participated in the shotput and discus with Zoe participating in the 1500m and 3000m running races.

The day was cloudy, the sun peaked through every now then and there was a lot of wind blowing.  The wind made the conditions tough for the athletes.

Despite the windy weather, all the hard work and effort involved in getting to this event paid off, Leah and Zoe both came first in their events.  This allows them both to qualify for the upcoming CSW Regional Athletics Meet next Thursday, 20 March.
