I’m just writing to update you on progress in relation to the early childhood kindergarten service for 2023 and beyond.

As you may be aware, earlier this year we engaged with alternative early childhood operators within the Steiner community to gauge interest in any parties who may wish to step in and take on the ECE License. As a result, the Trustees of The Cottage (otherwise known as Wellington Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten Trust or WRSK Trust) expressed an interest in taking on our ECE License.

Since then, the Board of Trustees have had a series of conversations discussing the various elements of what it would mean to transfer the Raphael House ECE License to their Trust including what this may mean in regard to the current whānau and tamariki enrolled in our service.

These conversations have progressed well and we are now in a position to confirm that from 1 January 2023 the current ECE License held by the Proprietors Trust of Raphael House will transfer to Wellington Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten Trust. This means that the WRSK Trust will be responsible for running the kindergarten service at Raphael House from the beginning of the 2023 school year. They will also continue to run the ECE service at The Cottage.

There are still some details to confirm in relation to this, but we are excited that there will continue to be a Steiner kindergarten service offered to our whānau and community in the current kindergarten buildings. I will keep connected with the WRSK Trust given they will be delivering services on school grounds and to ensure good alignment and cohesion with children moving from the kindergarten service and onto the school roll.
