Class 9 Tongariro National Park Camp
Class 9 recently completed their Tongariro National Park Camp with a focus on the Geology of the area.
We were very lucky to have Julian Thompson on the trip who took the time to explain to us the geographical history and volcanic nature of the rocks and landscape around us. We completed the Tongariro Crossing, a tramp into Waihohonu Hut on the Northern Circuit and a casual walk and swim around and in Lake Rotopounamu. Thanks to the sun for shining down on us, the greatest hurdle being the hourly battle of not getting sun burnt.
