PEACE EVENT Panel Members

Thomas Nash spent 15 years overseas working on the protection of civilians in armed conflict. He led the successful international campaign to ban cluster bombs and was a leading strategist for the International Campaign to Abolish nuclear weapons that won the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for its work to achieve a treaty banning nuclear weapons. He is a current regional councillor and Transport Chair for Greater Wellington Regional Council.

Paekākāriki resident, Penny Ehrhardt helped establish Te Whare Manaaki o Toda,

the new Wellington community gallery space dedicated to illuminating steadfast efforts for a culture of humanistic peace. Penny has published on Aotearoa New Zealand history, family violence intervention, social policy and international human rights. She has a DPhil in Law from Oxford University.

Of the sixteen books that historian David Grant has written, four of them cover

aspects of anti-militarism in both the first and second world wars. They were

invaluable to the author during the production of this book, as was David with his

support. He lives in Wellington, teaches at Victoria University and is the author of

many articles on aspects of anti-militarism.
