Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou!

Ngā Rito Group —

Thank you all for your wonderful contributions to make our movie fundraiser such a successful event!

Thank you to all of those who came on the night and those who couldn’t come but found a way to contribute. Together we raised enough money to make each teacher’s wish for a Te Ao Māori book for their class or subject come true!

It was great to see the room full of people come together to watch a movie about a very remarkable, practical, strong, wise and very human woman. A woman with so much mana and aroha. Whina Cooper lived a long life and fought tirelessly for the rights of her people, but she also had a vision for an Aotearoa where all our people could live in harmony. In her own words:

“Take care of our children. Take care of what they hear, take care of what they see, take care of what they feel. For how the children grow, so will be the shape of Aotearoa”

We would like to thank Petone Lighthouse Cinema for all their support and Schrodinger's Bookstore for being there on the night and offering us a very generous discount so we can make the most of your generous donations.

Thank you all for supporting this wonderful kaupapa,
