For the first time in a long time.....(possibly ever) Raphael House was represented at the NZCT Chamber Music Contest.

This is an annual competition with district, regional and a national final and which has been running for many generations with hundreds of groups competing every year.

Alex, Sarah, Dani and Ezra have been working together since early in Term 1 to get a piece up to a performance standard and in doing so have had tutorials from members of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, New Zealand String Quartet and New Zealand School of Music.  

While they did not get a placing this time round, meeting and learning from some of the best pros in the country and performing to a high level has been an invaluable experience. 

Sarah, who was also playing in another mixed group with members from other schools did make it through to the Wellington District Final and we are yet to hear the results.
