Branch Meeting of The Anthroposophical Society
‘Achieving the Just and the Good’ Talk by Ian Kircher
Monday, 4th of March, 7:30 - 9:00 pmat 19 Bristol Square, Lower Hutt. Koha welcome.
We are living in a time when the basic tenets, principles and functioning of our westerndemocratic society are being severely challenged. Sometimes peacefully, but also aggressively and even violently. This manifests in many different forms and movements which are currently developing. E.g. Extinction Rebellion, The Natural/Common Law movements, Patriot movement, etc. This distrust now extends also towards the legislative, judiciary and law enforcement systems. Dissatisfaction and indignation usually always arises from a perception or feeling that there is INJUSTICE. Jurisprudence was seen as the science of understanding JUSTICE and INJUSTICE.
Justice was seen as the “Good” or facilitating the good. Injustice was seen as “Evil” or bringing about evil. So, it is important to understand the working of both these two principles as well as the recondite and abstruse relationship between them.
In this talk we intend to look at the development of law through the cultural epochs up to what it has become at the present. So, the process of changes in the elements of law will be elaborated on from a Spiritual Scientific perspective. We hope well considered discussion will take place which can focus on understanding the current social situation. We will look at actual examples and possible ways forward to achieve the just and the good.
Ian Kircher has a background in economics & finances and a keen interest in history, politics, and social questions.
We are looking forward to seeing you then.
