Main Lesson and Practice Lesson timetables for the year commenced on Thursday in the Upper School.

All classes start their first main lesson for the year.  Class 8 begin with Poetry with Katie and Will. Class 9, Geology with Sarah. NZ History with Amelia is the Main Lesson for Class 10. Class 11 study Contemporary Art with Gabrielle and Class 12 build their Creative Writing skills with Megan.

We are really committed to keeping as broad a curriculum as possible and to offering as many elective options to senior students as possible despite our small class numbers. 

Therefore this year we have approached elective classes in a different way. Some are combined for Class 11 and 12 and others have reduced their face time in front of a teacher. When they are with the teacher they will have intensive teaching sessions and then will be given some study spells to work on the material independently. There is a study spell classroom that will always be staffed so these students can be given support with this. These changes have allowed us to sustain the number of subject specialist options we can offer the students in these two classes.
