Congratulations to Class 10!

Katie Musk —

Two sold out performances of 'Dream On' by Sarah Delahunty - an adaptation of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' by William Shakespeare.

This week, Class 10 performed their play ‘Dream On’ on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, as well as doing their dress rehearsal for the Upper School. Their audiences thoroughly enjoyed the show with its exuberant energy, impeccable comic timing and non-stop laughs. Our guest director, Ella Hope-Higginson, who is an actor, director, filmmaker and a graduate of Raphael House and Toi Whaakari, made Sarah Delahunty’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ come to life in Class 10’s capable hands.

Over the past four weeks, Ella and the Class 10 akōnga worked hard in rehearsals and in their production areas to bring the play to life. We are blessed to have the Class 10 Play as part of our Upper School curriculum, where the students are released from their usual classes for four weeks to work full-time on rehearsing the play. This not only offers growth and learning opportunities in terms of drama skills and technical skills but also enables our akōnga to have a glimpse into the world of theatre.
