Movin' March is here!

Kathleen Russell —

It's been lovely seeing the tamariki walking and wheeling their way down to the school and having their shining faces come into the office for their stamps, if you are not yet on board it's not too late!

Raphael House is promoting active transport to school for the month of March (and hopefully beyond!) by participating in Movin' March.

Each child participating will receive a "passport" which will be stamped at the end or start of each journey, once the passport has been completed, they are able to choose an environmentally friendly prize.

Participate by walking/biking/scooting or even skating to school. If you live too far away you could park up on Tirohanga Road, Kekeno Grove or Ardal Grove and let your child walk down, you could start the day with a lovely bush walk from Wairere Road if you reside in Belmont or walk down through the Pine Forest.

Brett will be patrolling at our crossing outside the office so kids can cross safely, and we have parking available in the bus garage for all your wheels, just remember to bring your bike lock!

So, let's all celebrate the benefits of walking, scooting and biking to school which can help increase independence, physical and mental health, decision making, and road safety skills for our tamariki!
