Road Safety

Katie Musk —

The school gates, at the end of the day have always been a busy place and things stepped up a notch this term with the introduction of a third school bus!

Our bus drivers are concerned with the number of adults walking their children in front or inbetween the buses to cross the road.   This role-models to younger students that it is safe to do so.  Please always cross at the patrolled area directly in front of the office and remind your child to do so also.

We are organising with the council for the carpark directly infront of the buses to be freshly painted in yellow as a clear indicator that this park is not available to cars.  For the buses to safely navigate exiting the bus parking bay, it is extremely important that this space is car-free.  Please do not park in this space.

And finally, a small request.   Our buses depart from school at 3.10pm each day.  If you are arriving at this time and there is a bus at the top of Matuhi Street (waiting to turn right onto Tirohanga Road) just as you are about to turn right into Matuhi Street, please consider allowing the bus to turn first.

Thanks everyone!
