Rotation Programmes

Annual Plan Feature -Theme 4 Healing Curriculum

Some feedback we received last year was that there were not many opportunities for our students to work across classes.  As a result, this is one of the focuses of Theme 4 in our 2022 Annual Plan.

Our Upper school students began this week with a programme for two days where all of the teachers offered options that students then selected. All groups were cross class groups which allowed students to build some relationships with some different students. There were a wide range of options for students to engage in - mural painting, board games, boot camp  fitness, dungeon and dragons, film make-up art, sculptures in the pine forest, science egg drops and fire pit cooking. Thanks to all the teachers who offered such a range of options and to the students who engaged in this different introduction to the year of learning.

In the Lower School classes 5, 6 and 7 also began a rotation programme of PE, Visual Arts, STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math), and Story Telling. Across the three classes the students have been split into four groups with students from each class and they will attend two of these rotations each week for five weeks and then move onto the other two.
