Farm Experience Coordinator

Grant Rossiter —

We are seeking a person with some experience of, or enthusiasm for rural life to coordinate our 2023 Class 9 Farm Experience programme. This programme has been operating in the Upper School for over 20 years. During that time, we have established a solid working relationship with several farmers across Aotearoa who have hosted our rangatahi placements.

The main role of the Farm Experience Coordinator is to develop and foster these relationships with the host farmers and their whānau to facilitate a smooth and effective running of the Farm Experience programme beyond our school environment. This part time role involves between 70 to 100 hours of work. It starts during Term 2 and finishes when the rangatahi return from their two-week placement at the end of Term 3.

We are fortunate that our previous Farm Coordinator has kindly offered their experience this year to support and mentor the person transitioning into this role. Further support is provided by Grant who is facilitating the Farm Experience Main Lesson. This combined support will ensure the successful applicant will gain the necessary background knowledge for stepping into this role. We have a preference for a person who is willing to take on this job long term.

If you have any specific questions about the nature of this Farm Coordinator position or wish to apply for the position, please contact Grant Rossiter grant.r@raphaelhouse.school.nz for a job description. Applications close 5 p.m. Tuesday 6th June
