Introducing Irene

Deputy Principal

Kia ora e te whānau,

Ko Irene taku ingoa

Nō Haina ōku tūpuna

I tupu ake au i Kirikiriroa

Kei Te Awakairangi au e noho ana.

I'm Irene, my ancestors are from China, butI grew up in the Tron- Hamilton.  I currently live in the Hutt.

I have been teaching for nearly 20 years in Hamilton, London and Wellington.  I have been part of the Raphael House community since 2011 when my eldest son started in Kindy.  And part of the RH teaching team since 2017. I currently teach Class 4 and Class 8 Maths and am part of the RH Senior Leadership Team.

In my spare time (what's that?!) when I'm not involved  with hockey as a player, Hockey mum, and RH hockey fundraiser, you'll find me reading trashy romance novels (wedged between lots of professional development books about maths, Steiner Education or Te Reo Māori).  Musicals, concerts, yum-charring, boot-camp, shopping, socialising with whānau and being mocked by my family for being a tech-luddite also feature highly in my relaxing and rejuvenation list.
