Introducing Kat

Receptionist

My name is Kathleen, and my journey began growing up along the shores of Te Tai Poutini, between Hokitika and Punakaiki a place that still has a magnetic pull for me, there’s no place more beautifully wild as walking along that coastline in the rain or under the magical canopy of the many forest tracks available there. it is here during a two-year polytechnic course that I first found out about Steiner schools through a very dear friend, who had been a student at the Ōtautahi Rudolf Steiner, a seed in my mind was planted.

A long stretch of time passed, in which traveling happened, living in various places around N.Z and Australia, eventually my feet found their way to Raphael house, where my three children have been enjoying their journeys, and I have been blessed to become even more involved within the community by working in the reception.

When I’m not working, I enjoy being with my children seeing them play and hearing their laughter, slowing down with them, and watching the way they explore their environment, I enjoy listening to music, reading, dancing in my lounge, creating, crafting, drawing, and taking photos. I love to recharge with long walks under the trees.
