The Otago Problem Challenge is an annual competition run by Otago University and consists of 5 sets of 5 difficult maths story problems.

The sets are spaced across the second and third terms and thousands of Year 6-8 students in New Zealand take part in the Challenge.

Congratulations to all of the following Redcliffs students who received awards this year. The awards will be given out at the next assembly. Excellence (top 10% in NZ): Luke J, Josh (Year 8); Kawa, Amelie, Oliver, Andrew (Year 7).Merit (next 25% in NZ): Adriaan, Luke C, Sam (Year 6); Luca C, Cami, Kara, Annabelle, Bryn, Kiki, Leila, Luca R (Year 7); Charlie, Jack, Matthew, Oscar, Sophie, David, Isaac, Jeffery, Alex, Ty (Year 8).Luke J also wins a voucher for getting the top score in the school (92%) and he and Josh will sit a 'Final Challenge' next week, designed for students who have answered more than 80% of the problems correctly. Terrific results!
