40 Hour Famine 2022

Sandy Thomas —

This year the World Vision Famine is at the end of Week 9 on the weekend of the 1st-3rd July.

Last week Emily, who our Youth Ambassador from World Vision, did a presentation to Year 5-8 students about this year's Famine, which is focusing on raising funds to support clean water in third world countries that urgently need it for their children to be well.

Our 2022 Famine Leaders are Hannah, Molly, Nami and Mia and they met with Emily to form a plan for fundraisers to promote this year's Famine so we look forward to hearing more from them. Last year we broke our own fundraising record with a total of $9300! This year the Famine Leaders have ambitiously set a target of $10000!

An easy way to raise funds is to do it online, so we have set up our Te Raekura Redcliffs page on the World Vision Famine Website: Te Raekura Redcliffs School 40 hour Famine Fundraising page - click on "Join this Team" to connect your child's profiles to the school. Each student can set up an online fundraising page by going to: 40hour.org,nz Please remember to connect their profile to the school page. It would be great if they could do this quite soon.

Students will also have the option of collecting cash donations and sending them into school. We will send home Famine booklets once children have committed to the Famine - they have lots of great information and ideas for how to fundraise for the famine.

Thank you in anticipation of your fantastic support for this year's 40 Hour Famine!
