In Week 1 this term Year 4 had a wonderful time on their camp.

This year we based ourselves in the beautiful Van Asch wharenui and went out during the days to have adventures. We spent the first day at the Groynes with Horizons Adventure Based Learning. There we took part in challenging team building activities, did some orienteering, and helped each other to climb the Giant's Ladder and swing high on the Flying Kiwi ropes. After that we had great fun on the QE2 hydroslide. The next day we visited Bottle Lake Forest where we learned some bush survival skills, made bivouacs and had a monster water fight involving a massive fire hose. Many thanks to all of the wonderful parents who helped with transport and supervision during the days and/or stayed the night. Everyone had a marvellous time. It was definitely a highlight of the year.
