This year Te Raekura Redcliffs will be offering optional, supervised, online ICAS exams for Year 4-8 students in Science, English (reading comprehension) and Maths.

The dates of the exams are as follows: 

ICAS English: Thursday 19 August at 9.15am

ICAS Science: Thursday 26 August at 9.15am

ICAS Maths: Thursday 2nd September at 9.15am 

The cost for each exam is $18.40. A letter will be sent home  within the next week giving more details and inviting you to register your child for any of the exams. Please do not register until you receive the letter. Registration will close at the end of Term 2.

ICAS exams are an optional external online Australsian exam for children in Years 4-8. They are designed to assess students' ability to use higher order thinking and problem-solving skills. They recognise academic excellence and provide challenges for high potential and able students.

A wee heads up: This is the last year we will be offering ICAS exams. From 2022 we are going to offer Kiwi Competitions instead. These are similarly challenging, also online and run by the University of Canterbury. They have the advantages of being aligned with the NZ Curriculum and are almost half the cost of ICAS exams.
