Scarlett's Mutant Monarch

Scarlett - Room 14 —

Check out Scarlett's written description of her mutant insect created for next week's Art Exhibition.

My Mutant Monarch

How did my insect become a mutant insect:

My insect was a Monarch butterfly that looked orange with tainted black patterns. It flies around at day and night. One evening my insect got captured in a net by a scientist who studied “ bugs “. My insect tried to outrun this person but couldn't since its wings were trapped. My insect got sprayed with pink toxic spray and put it into a bottle.

That's when my insect got shocked with a tool to be combined with a big recyclable bottle, its skin ripped and split to its new unique skin. It is partly pink but its patterns were kept on its splotched skin. It's slimy because of the toxins from the scientist and the raspberry in the coca cola bottle.

My insect’s habitat/ My insect’s food source:

My insect lives in a dump with abandoned cars and tools. It lives in a car motor. It mostly comes out in the evenings and feeds on greasy metal parts , and plastic scraps from old junk. Its favourite thing is stuffing from the dumped stuffed bears. It loves flying around at summer time with its metallic red wings and eats all the mosquitos with its large icky tongue.

To find food my insect has a special feature. When there's prey nearby his wings vibrate and make a ringing noise. When a smaller bug comes near my insect. It will grab it by the antennas and inject an electric shock. That will kill the prey. If my insect has no toxins left in its body he jumps and bites.

How my insect moves:

My insect has special wings. Its wings are perfect solid red metal wings with sharp ends. My insect has legs but usually flies around, If prey is nearby it flies over the grass slowly. If my insect is tired it lands in oak trees and in motor cars to feed on the petrol or soil from the grass.

How my insect escapes predators:

My insect has a loud hissing sound that scares the predators away, It hides in the bushes and has camouflage so it uses that. It can see very far so if they come close it can see it very clearly with its beaming sight. When predators are near my insect, it flys up in the sky and bends its legs very far and kicks the predator.

Sometimes it uses its long stained red tongue to slurp up them in one gulp, Even if it's very big it dies with the toxic fumes in my insect's mouth. The fumes are bright blue and partly green with clear bubbles.
