Rationale: To ensure only authorised persons are in the school grounds at any time during the school day.
Purposes:
- To identify visitors to the school
- To ensure administration staff are aware of who is in the school throughout the day for security and emergency purposes
- To provide clear guidelines and procedures on identifying visitors
Process:
- All visitors to the school between 9.15am – 2.45pm are to sign in at reception/office on arrival and sign out on departure
- Visitors are to sign in and out on the administration ipad
- Administration staff will, when required, locate a staff member which a visitor may wish to meet or contact
- Staff members are encouraged to challenge any visitors to ensure they have reported to the office, signed in and their presence is legitimate.
- Any contractors working at the school site must do so under the supervision and knowledge of the Principal and Property Officer.
- The Principal must approve any non-staff members’ attendance at school for more than two (2) consecutive days.
- Prolonged or regular attendance of non-teaching staff may necessitate a police clearance.
- If a visitor repeatedly breaches sign in/sign out procedures there may be further action taken.
