Book Week/Book Fair 18-22 November 2019

Laura Grant, Sarah Burt —

We are very excited to announce that we will be holding our Annual Scholastic Book Fair and Book week from Monday 18th November until Friday 22nd November.

Some key points for you to note:

1. We will be having a book character dress up day on Tuesday 19 November. Our tamariki are to come to school dressed as a book character, it would be ideal if they could please bring along the book to share as well. We will be having a parade on the courts (or in the school hall if wet) at 9:15 on Tuesday morning. We would love you to join us.

2. On Wednesday 20 November we will be having a Wacky Wednesday Wacky Socks day. Children will be encouraged to wear wacky socks and the library will be open for stories during the day.

3. On Wednesday 20 November from 6pm-6.30pm we will be hosting an event called “Late Night at the Book Fair”. You are welcome to bring your children. There will be stories in the hall for them to listen to while you shop in the book fair. This event will finish promptly at 6.30pm as the hall is booked afterwards by another group.

4. The book fair will be open in the hall from 8:15-9:30 Tuesday-Friday mornings and 2:30-3:15 on Monday-Thursday afternoons. It will also be open on Wednesday evening during our “Late Night at the Book Fair” session.

5. We will be creating a “Dino-Mite” photo display. Your child can bring a photo of themselves reading in exciting places or interesting ways to add to our display.

There will be a number of other exciting and engaging activities being held throughout the week for all our tamariki to enjoy. We look forward to seeing you at school during the week as celebrate a love of reading.
