Our Amazing Two Days at Camp!!!

Georgia W —

Yahoo! Pukeko and Hoiho Hubs went to Blue Skies in Kaiapoi for our first overnight camp on the 28th and 29th of March.

We got to go on three massive cool travel buses to get there. We arrived at 10am. This was going to be an amazing two days!

My favourite activity was Top Team because it was nice to work as a team and we got soaking wet (it was COLD!). We worked as a team to find a name – ours was the Shining Stars.

Before camp started, I was feeling lucky, nervous and glad! I felt lucky and glad because the teachers had set up an amazing camp and cool activities to do. I was feeling a bit nervous because I have never stayed overnight at camp before.

During camp I felt excited, happy and a little homesick. I was feeling homesick because I couldn’t get to sleep because there were lots of people talking and giggling. I was happy that I was in a group with my friends and excited to try new activities out.

When camp finished I felt proud, exhausted and grateful. I felt proud of myself because I did every single activity. I was exhausted because I didn’t get much sleep – just like the teachers! I was grateful because I got the opportunity to do activities like the flying fox and because we had lots of parent helpers.

Blues Skies was AMAZING! I am looking forward to staying over two nights next year! Hopefully I will get some more sleep!!
