The Redwood Business & Residents Group are hosting a “Meet the Candidate” evening for the upcoming Elections. Tuesday 17th September at 7pm at The Christchurch Function Centre, Redwood Hotel, 340 Main North Road, Redwood.

This is an opportunity to meet those who want to represent our Ward in the upcoming Elections, both in the Christchurch City Council and Community Board. Candidates will have a chance to speak then members of the public will be able to ask questions.  See attached notice

My name is Heather McLean and I am the Teacher In Charge of the Dance programme at Papanui High School. Over the past 7 years I have run an Annual Dance Showcase which has continued to grow. This year we have 3 nights , Wednesday 28, Thursday 29 and Friday 30 of August at 7pm. Each night has 30 items and has a large variety of Dance genre.

Junior Football and Netball Summer League 2018/2019

Held on Friday afternoons/evenings at our Christchurch Central stadium this is a 6-aside indoor football competition for all junior players, 7 - 18’s year olds (15’s – 18’s 5-aside) while indoor netball is held on Thursday afternoons/evenings, 7-aside 10’s & under - 16’s being catered for.

Each game is 26 minutes long, with subs allowed, with a match fee of $42.00 per team/per game for football and $45.50 per team/per game for netball.

Our last season’s competition was very successful with over 500 children participating. As well as social teams, many were club teams playing together in their off – season, keeping up their fitness & skill levels whilst staying in contact with team mates.

The season will commence from the 17th of October & continue through until finals are held 3rd April 2019. Competition will break for summer holidays.  See attached flyers. Teams and individuals can enter via our website www.actionindoorsports.com or ph 03 3666601

I am attempting to put together a team of Year 3 & 4 children to play Touch rugby at Belfast Rugby Club.

Competition is on Tuesday nights and starts on 22nd Oct

Registration needs to be in before 16th Sept.

Team subs are $250 per team, so with a team of 12 = $21 each

Team Shirts are provided by Rotary Club.

It will be mostly Redwood children at this stage with a few Belfast kids involved also. Currently I have enough boys but require 3 – 4 girls. Please contact Nathan Winter on 027 644 4435

GirlGuiding NZ is looking for fun, energetic leaders that will provide positive support to girls aged 5 – 17 years old while delivering exciting programmes once a week. Group meetings run for 1 to 2 hours once a week during school terms. We have developed an amazing programme that uses fun, adventure and friendship to build girls’ confidence and life skills to help grow the next generation of female leaders. All support and training is provided by a dedicated team to help you do a great job. You just need to bring a drive and a passion to empower girls and lead them towards a bright future! Barracudas Senior Womens Canterbury Hockey Team have an annual coaching clinic where members of our experienced team provide the opportunity for primary/ Intermediate school students to learn and grow in their hockey skills. Saturday 7 September 9.30am-1pm at Nunweek Turf.  Ages 6-13 years.  See attached flyer

2019 North Beach Surf Life Saving Club Open Day - Sunday 13 October 11am to 2pm. We would love to see you and the family come down for a day at the beach and check out what the club has to offer all ages over summer.
We are a family orientated club and strongly encourage the whole family to have a go and get involved.
New Zealand is a unique pacific island nation within Australasia as well as Polynesia, we are surrounded by beautiful open oceans which provide Kiwi's a summertime of fun, however' it is vital that all New Zealander's of all ages learn how to read and understand our oceans so we keep each other safe for many summers to come.
