Staff Update - Christine Prattley

Nick Gunn —

At the end of the year, we farewell our very special Mrs Christine Prattley who will be retiring.

Christine began at Redwood in June, 2003 teaching a role growth class of 22 New Entrants. In 2007 she trained as a specialist Reading Recovery Teacher, delivering literacy support to individual students in the morning and job sharing in the classroom in the afternoons. Since 2021, Christine has worked part time, focussing on her Reading Recovery role.

Over the years, Christine has supported over 100 students one-to-one to strengthen their reading and writing skills through the Reading Recovery Programme and hundreds more as a highly skilled classroom practitioner.

On behalf of the school and our Board of Trustees, I would like to thank Christine for her more than two decades of commitment to Redwood School. Our staff and tamariki have benefited from her skill and passion, particularly in the area of literacy/ reading & writing.

Ngā mihi nui Christine! Wishing you all the very best for your retirement, you will be missed!
