Teachers in our school will be attending paid union meetings on the afternoon of Wednesday 3rd April.

These hui are paid union meetings for all primary and area school teachers who are members of NZEI Te Riu Roa. These are paid union meetings as set out in the Employment Relations Act. NZEI Te Riu Roa members covered by the primary and area school teachers collective agreements are entitled to be released to attend.

What does this mean for you?

• We ask that you support us by collecting your child promply at 12:30pm on the afternoon of Wednesday 3rd April.
• This will allow all Redwood Primary teachers (who are NZEI members) to attend this meeting.
• We will be able to supervise children of parents who are unable to collect their child - please note we have very limited capacity to do this.

Collecting your child at 12:30pm - please help us to do this safely

• Firstly, THANK YOU for supporting us!
• It is really important that you have a plan in place for your child on this afternoon and that we know your intentions. Please complete this form ASAP.
• For safety reasons, we will only allow year 5 and 6 students to make their way home from school unaccompanied by a parent (and only with confirmation from a parent. Please email the school office and your child's teacher confirming that someone will be home.
• For parents of all other students - please be onsite to collect your child (ideally, from the classroom) at 12:30pm Wednesday 3rd April
• We will have staff on the gates to ensure that every child goes home safely.

What if I cannot collect my child early on this day?

This is no problem. Please state this on the form linked above. Alternatively, please email Pauline at office@redwoodprimary.school.nz to arrange supervision until 3pm - we have very limited spaces available.
