Black Caps visit Redwood School
On Tuesday, students at Redwood experienced the thrill of international cricket firsthand when Black Caps players Matt Henry, Devon Conway, and Henry Nicholls paid a visiting the school.
The event clearly showcased the Black Caps' immense popularity, drawing over 70 eager students who were excited to meet their cricket idols.
The visit was further enhanced by the support of Canterbury Cricket, which organized a series of rotating games aimed at honing the students' cricket skills. The presence of their idols made the games even more special for the students, some of whom had the rare chance to bat or bowl against a Black Cap, testing their abilities against top-tier cricketer. With many students playing for the same local club as Matt Henry, aspirations of one day becoming Black Caps themselves were ignited.
The session was wrapped up with a Q&A session and autograph signing, leaving the students with lasting memories.
