The Redwood children voted for “Puffin the Architect” as their favourite book.

Bret (R1) voted for Mini Whinny. He liked the ending when they sang “Happy Birthday” and Mini Whinny said “to me”.

Amelia (R12) voted for “Who stole the rainbow?” She liked the end of the story when they found the rainbow. She also liked the bright colours used in the illustrations.

Bryn (R15) voted for “Puffin the Architect” because it’s the kind of story he likes and can relate to.

The NZ judges voted last week and awarded the prize for top picture book to “The Bomb” by Sacha Cotter. The Margaret Mahy Book of the Year was also awarded to “The Bomb”.
