Out of Zone Ballot for 2024

Pauline Prescott —

The Board invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their child at Redwood School from the 2024 school year.

Email the office (office@redwoodprimary.school.nz) to ensure your child's name is on our list for 2024.

A ballot will be held for each term as follows:

  • For children to enrol in Term 1, 2024 application deadline is Wednesday 20 September 2023 (closed)

  • For children to enrol in Term 2, 2024 application deadline is Wednesday 6 March 2024  (closed)

  • For children to enrol in Term 3, 2024 application deadline is Wednesday 22 May 2024 (closed)

  • For children to enrol in Term 4, 2024 application deadline is Wednesday 21 August 2024

Places cannot be offered in advance as the actual number of places available for each term will change depending on the number of applications received for the current term's ballot

In October 2023, the Board determined that up to 25 places at New Entrant level are available for 2024. There's only 1 place available for the rest of 2024.

If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot on the Friday following the closing date.  Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

Applications from out of zone students will be processed in the following order of priority:

First priority: will be given to students who have been accepted for enrolment in an approved special programme. (not applicable at Redwood School)

Second priority: will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students

Third priority: will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students

Fourth priority: will be given to a child of a former student

Fifth priority: will be given to applicants who are children of board employees

Sixth priority: will be given to all  other applicants.
